Join the Tweetjam for the MSA Shark Tank event

Microsoft Alumni Network - puck (jpg)For the first time in the history of the Microsoft Alumni Network a Tweetjam will be hosted for an upcoming event.

Together with the Microsoft Alumni Network San Diego / SoCal Chapter a Shark Tank event is being held on March 23rd. (click2tweet)

To kick off the event we are hosting a Tweetjam to get the word out, to meet the organizers, to connect with some of the speakers, and to learn more about the event.

MSA Tweetjam - Join in on March 15th from 9 to 9:30am Pacific Time.

The details for the event are below. If you have never joined in on a Tweetjam before the ground rules are easy and it’s a fun way to learn and share.

It’s easy. Anyone can jump in and share their thoughts, or just lurk in the wings and absorb the wisdom of the crowd. Whichever option you choose just be ready for a lot of content in the course of one hour. And, don’t worry. We will record it for “playback” later.

You can follow the live session using the Twitter UI of your choice (Twitter.com, Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, Twubs, whatever). Monitor the event hashtag and make sure you use it in all of your replies.

We will use the Hashtag: #MSASharkTank

How it works is the moderator will start by asking people to introduce themselves – just your name, location, areas of expertise or interest, and anything else you’d like to share in 140 characters or less.

Then the moderator will post a series of questions every few minutes, and people will respond to Q1, Q2, Q3 and so forth with A1, A2, A3, always including the #MSASharkTank hashtag with their answers.

Feel free to reply as often (or as little) as you’d like, ask your own follow up questions, share relevant links, retweet others, and engage with the audience. If you are familiar with the TweetStorm model feel free to use it. Details about how one of our members and colleagues does TweetJams is here.

The questions we will discuss during the session include:

  1. What is the MSA Shark Tank event?
  2. Who should attend and why?
  3. Should students get involved?
  4. What are the take-aways from Shark Tank style events?
  5. Who can contribute or benefit from this event?
  6. How can people get involved – as a speaker, sponsor, helper?
  7. How can Microsoft Alumni get involved?

BONUS QUESTIONS – We have asked a few of the speakers to join in on the Tweetjam and have asked them answer these next few questions. Feel free to chime in if you have experience here … as an entrepreneur, speaker, organizer, venture capitalist, investor, etc.

  • For the panelists - What got you into entrepreneurship?
  • For the panelists – What have you learned from past Shark Tank like events?
  • I like a presenter and/or I would like to get involved. What happens after the event? (Click to Contact the Event Organizers)

Of course, there will be side-questions, side-conversations, and occasionally off-topic conversations throughout. The dialog is usually thought-provoking but also fun. Participating on this panel are a number of Microsoft Alumni staffers, some of the speakers, and a few enthusiasts and experts in the Shark Tank experience. Of course, this is open to the public, so please join in the discussion!

What’s happening with the
Microsoft Alumni Network?

The Microsoft Alumni Network is always looking for ways to give back and work within the communities where our members live and work.

As part of these efforts we are creating chapters and ambassadors. These programs are brand new and still in their kick off phases. If you are interested in starting or being involved with a chapter see the link below. If you are interesting being an ambassador we want to hear from you. Of course, if you aren’t a member yet … consider joining today.

We look forward to seeing you on the First Ever Microsoft Alumni Network Tweetjam. For those in the San Diego area we encourage you to check out the (also) First Ever MSA Shark Tank event.
